Long-term collaboration
Ongoing SEO management
SEO is not a project you do once and then tick off. Competitors keep moving, Google and AI search engines change the rules, and every month your website gains new pages, products and errors. Ongoing SEO management means someone looks after all this regularly and knows exactly why they are doing each task.
I work with clients over the long term, and it is what I enjoy most. The best results do not come in the first month. They come once I know the website, the industry and the people on the other side well enough to know exactly where to focus.
What ongoing SEO management includes

Monthly priorities
Each month we choose the tasks we expect to have the biggest impact on revenue or enquiries. Not a long list, but a clear order.

Implementation
I don't just suggest tasks, I see them through. Copy, briefs for developers, redirects, internal links and checks after release.

Technical monitoring
I regularly check indexing, errors, speed and changes on the website so we catch problems as early as possible.

Content and categories
New pages based on what people really search for, and improvements to existing pages that are already close to winning.

Links and mentions
Regular link building and PR that get relevant websites writing about you. This helps both in search engines and in AI answers.

Measurement and reporting
A short overview of what was done, what it achieved and what comes next. Numbers that make sense to company leadership too.

Why SEO only works in the long term
SEO results add up. A page you improve today brings traffic for months and years to come. A quality backlink you earn this year keeps helping your website in the years that follow. That is why it makes sense to work on SEO consistently, not in occasional bursts.
A one-off audit shows what to fix, but without follow-up care the work stalls. Without regular care, errors pile up on the website again, competitors catch up and new opportunities go unused. Ongoing management keeps the pace and adds another layer every month.
Why I enjoy long-term collaboration
I usually work with clients for years, not months. For example, I work long term for Manboxeo and Chlorito, and I have been working with Erika Fashion for over two years. The case study shows how the website has moved forward in that time. What I enjoy most is watching the first fixes gradually turn into a website that keeps growing even in the era of AI search engines.
Long-term collaboration also has a practical advantage. I don’t have to relearn how your business works every month, because I know your seasonality, your product range and the people in your company. This lets me decide quickly what makes sense and what is just a nice activity with no impact.
How management works month by month
Every month follows the same rhythm. First I look at data from Search Console, analytics and tools, then I agree priorities with you and get to work. At the end of the month I review what worked and plan the next step accordingly.
The scope can be adjusted to the season. For e-shops, before the main season we focus on categories and products, and outside the season on content, technical work and links. You can read more about how I work with e-shops on the SEO for e-shops page.
What happens in the first year
The first three months are about the foundations. An initial audit, fixes for technical errors and an SEO strategy with priorities for the whole year. The first improvements often appear on pages that were already just outside the top ten for important queries, usually between the third and sixth month.
For the rest of the year we build on what works. We expand content, improve categories, build links and keep an eye on the technical side. After a year, it is usually no longer just about fixes but about systematic growth that can be planned.
Not just recommendations, but implementation
In my experience, SEO collaborations often end with a report full of recommendations that nobody in the company has time for. I see tasks through. Where I have access, I edit the website myself. Otherwise I write briefs for developers, prepare copy and meta descriptions, set up redirects and check after release that the change really shows on the website.
When needed, I bring in people from my small team, for example for copywriting or link building. But you still communicate with me, so there is no chain of people where information gets lost. I explain why I see this as an advantage over an agency on the SEO agency page.
How much ongoing SEO management costs
The price depends mainly on the size of the website, the competition in your industry and how much implementation you want included in the scope. A smaller website can manage with a few hours a month, while a large e-shop needs more time for content, technical work and links.
You can find indicative prices for monthly collaboration in the article SEO pricing. If you are not sure whether you need ongoing management or whether one-off help is enough, start with a consultation. In the form at the bottom of the page, tell me what you do and where you currently stand with SEO.
How long does it take for ongoing SEO management to show results?
The first results usually appear within three to six months, sooner for pages that are close to the top ten. However, it depends on the state of the website, the competition and how quickly changes are released. Bigger growth in competitive industries tends to come over a period of six to twelve months.
That is why management makes sense as a long-term collaboration. Results gradually add up and each month builds on the one before.
What is the difference between ongoing SEO management and a one-off audit?
An audit shows the state of the website and a list of what to fix. Management makes sure it actually gets done, and then continues with content, links and measurement.
An audit is often a good start to ongoing management. If you want to start with just that, take a look at SEO audit.
Do I have to commit to a long contract?
No. The collaboration is monthly with a reasonable notice period. Long-term client relationships are built on results, not on a contract.
At the start, though, we set realistic expectations. SEO takes time and the first months are mainly about the foundations.
What do I need from you?
Access to Search Console, analytics and the website or e-shop admin. And a contact for the person who decides on website changes, or for the developer.
The faster tasks get onto the website, the sooner results come. That is why a lot depends on how quickly things can be approved on your side.
Do you also manage AI visibility?
Yes. Management today also covers how your website and brand appear in answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity or AI Overviews in Google.
Good SEO and PR cover most of the work, but a few things need separate attention. More on the GEO page.
